Sergeant Police Officer

We are now hiring for a Full or Part Time Sergeant Police Officer. Hours are flexible, however, weekend availability is highly preferred.

Requirements
* Georgia POST Basic Law Enforcement Certification, in good standing.
* Georgia POST RADAR & LIDAR Certification, Highly preferred.
* Background investigation will include: review of POST record, check employment references, NCIC name & fingerprint checks.
* Must provide copy of birth certificate, high school diploma, valid Georgia Driver's License, & signed POST medical affidavit.
* Pre-employment, random and for cause drug testing is required.
* Must successfully complete interview with Chief of Police.

Police Officer (Trainee)

Requirements

1. Be at least 18 years old;  2. Be a citizen of the United States; 3. Have a high school diploma or its equivalent; 4. Not have been convicted of a crime for which the punishment could have been imprisonment; 5. Undergo a background investigation; 6. Be fingerprinted; 7. Undergo a physical and psychological examination;  8. Sign a contract to remain employed with the Jacksonville Police Department for a minimum of 24 months. 

The Police Academy is a demanding 408-hour program that will require a high level of physical fitness, academic studies and discipline. We send to GPSTC-Tifton or GPSTC-Forsyth. Volunteer Firefighter
We are now accepting applications for Volunteer Firefighters. Hours are on-call.  You must live within a reasonable distance of our fire coverage area (Jacksonville, GA 31544).

Requirements
* Fire Suppression - At least 18 years old, US Citizen, No Felonies within last 10 years, Good moral character, HS Diploma/GED.
* First Responders -  At least 18 years old, US Citizen, No Felonies within last 10 years, Good moral character, HS Diploma/GED
* Support -  At least 18 years old, US Citizen, No Felonies within last 10 years, Good moral character, HS Diploma/GED.
* Medical Exam and physical ability test is required for all except support volunteers.
* Must complete GFSTC required training within the designated time frame.
* Must be willing to respond to fire/medical/rescue calls in the Jacksonville Fire Service area.

Free training & equipment provided. We pay a $10.00 per answered call stipend to offset gas costs. We allow our volunteers to obtain a DPS red light permit for use in private vehicle (subject to policies & strict adherence to law); Opportunity for promotion as your skills and training level increase; Opportunity to network with other adults and give back to your community!
